Asian Mail

Baramulla: Police in Baramulla have successfully dismantled a human trafficking operating in Ushkura, rescuing four minor girls from Rohingya Burma.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police spokesperson said, “The operation began with the arrest of Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Ushkura, who was allegedly involved in trafficking and exploiting young girls from outside the Union Territory. A subsequent raid at the home of Mehraj Ahmad Tantray, a resident of Kanli Bagh, led to the recovery of another victim and Tantray’s arrest. Tantray is suspected of having purchased one of the girls from Bhat.”
