 Overloaded Bus in Kupwara: Two Labourers Fall, Suffer Critical Injuries

Kupwara: Two labourers suffered critical injuries after falling off the roof of a private bus in Ghaziabad area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said here on Thursday.

Local sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that due to the overload, various passengers, mostly labourers, had occupied the roof of the bus.

They said while deboarding from the bus near Palapora, two passengers slipped and fell off, receiving critical injuries.

The duo has been identified as Sahil Ahmad Teli (25) son of Ghulam Ahmad Teli of Mandigam and Ubaid Bashir Bhat (23) son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Badrah Payeen. They have been shifted to GMC Baramulla for treatment.

A police official said that both the victims are labourers. “We have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law,” the official said.
