Former Srinagar Mayor Junaid Mattu’s announcement of temporary suspension of political activities

Srinagar: Former Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and leader of Apni party in Jammu and Kashmir, Junaid Azim Mattu has announced the temporary suspension of all political activities.

I will share my thoughts.’ The former mayor said in a post on ‘X’: “After considerable thought, I announce an interim cessation of all my political activities.”

He said, “A strong conviction has to precede any meaningful work and with all humility at my command, I want to renew my pristine idealism’‘.

He added in the post, ‘I will share my views elaborately in a few days.”

Junaid Mattu has been the Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation for almost five years from the year 2018. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, his party could not get a lead in any of the total 36 Lok Sabha constituencies.
