Police have also attached illegal drug properties of 18 notorious drug peddlers worth 8.5 crores

Baramulla: Under the aegis of Drugfree Baramulla campaign and Continuing its action against drug menace since January 2023, Police have registered 365 cases under NDPS act, arrested 639 drug peddlers which include 120 hard-core drug peddlers who have been booked under PIT NDPS & seized 49 vehicles which were used for NDPS activities in Baramulla district sofar.
Police have also recovered contraband & psychotropic substances worth 68 Crores (value of contraband in black market), drugs worth 34 crores have been destroyed under section 25A of NDPS Act of various cases of Baramulla Police at Kashmir Health Care System IGC Lassipora Pulwama.
Police have also attached illegal drug properties of 18 notorious drug peddlers worth 8.5 crores, comprising of residential houses-9, shopping complex-1 vehicles-8, land plots 2 & cash-1.2 crores
Citizens of the district have shown utmost faith and satisfaction in the action of police against drugs, and they have expressed their total support to the police.
Baramulla Police remains steadfast in its commitment to confront drug smugglers and to seize both movable and immovable property used for illicit trafficking within the district.
On the demand side scenario in the district, Police in Baramulla have also organized 70 drug awareness camps in educational institutions, villages and other areas of the district in which resource persons of Police Drug Deaddiction Centre Baramulla delivered lectures to the common masses, students, respectable, imams etc in order to educate public & students about the dangers of drug abuse, prevention strategies & appropriate responses in case of encountering drug-related situations.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
