Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office, Jammu, on Friday organized multiple events across Jammu and Kashmir to commemorate the tenth International Day of Yoga (IDY).

These programs aimed to raise awareness about the importance of yoga and encourage its practice for physical and mental well-being.

In the Kashmir region, CBC’s Field Office Anantnag held an event at Kehribal in the Mattan area of Anantnag district, where participants practiced yoga despite a heavy downpour.

The highlight of this event was the early morning yoga session which saw participation from students, teachers, community members, and officials from CBC and local administration.

Expert lectures on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), emphasizing the vision behind this year’s theme – “Yoga for Self and Society,” were also conducted. Experts and instructors from the Department of AYUSH highlighted yoga as a simple remedy for physical well-being and mental peace.

CBC’s empanelled cultural troupes presented theme-based cultural programs highlighting the health benefits of yoga. Additionally, open quizzes and drawing competitions were organized for students to promote yoga awareness. Winners received prizes and merit certificates at the conclusion of each event.
