Sports Competitions organized to foster athletic excellence & camaraderie among students at Gbl

Ganderbal: As part of its annual calendar of events, the YSS department Ganderbal today organised inter-school zonal level sports competitions to foster athletic excellence and camaraderie among students.

Zone Hariganiwan conducted an exhilarating inter-school zonal level volleyball competition for girls under 14 years at the BHSS Hariganiwan ground. A large contingent of enthusiastic girl students from the zone participated.

DYSSO on the occasion interacted with the young athletes, applauding their participation and encouraging them to balance sports with their academic pursuits.

HS Cherwan triumphed over MS Kasanapati in the competition. Both the winning and runner-up teams were felicitated.

Zone Kangan hosted an inter-school zonal level handball competition for boys under 17 years at the Zonal Office ground in Kijpara Kangan. Seven teams competed vigorously, with the final match seeing SAPS Nunner emerge victorious against IRIS Kangan. The competition showcased the teams’ enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Winning and runner-up teams were awarded trophies, recognizing their efforts and dedication.

Zone Tullamulla organized sports competitions for girls under 17 and 19 years of age at Tehsilbagh Ground, Khranihama. The event witnessed the participation of 100 students across both age groups.

In the U17 category, BHS Lar emerged victorious over Hyderiya Model School Tullamulla, while in the U19 category, BHSS Lar defeated BHSS Kurhama.

Trophies were distributed among the winning and runner-up teams during the closing ceremony, highlighting the district’s support for young athletes.

Additionally, the zone conducted an intramural sports competition, featuring events like badminton and volleyball at BHSS Wakura, and chess and carrom at MS Sehpora.

A large number of students actively participated in these events, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.
