Theft case solved, accused arrested: Police

Baramulla: Police have solved a theft case by arresting 1 accused person and recovered stolen items from his possession.

In a statement issued to Asian mail, Police spokesperson  said that Police Station Uri received a written application from Shakeel Ahmad Parray, Resident of Garkote Uri in which it was mentioned that during the intervening night of 22 April 2024 some unknown thieves have barged into his house and had taken  away cash and some  golden items.

He further stated that during investigation many suspects were questioned and while  questioning, one suspected person namely Imran Ahmad Parray son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Balkote Uri confessed that he has stolen 7 golden rings, 1 golden ear ring, 1 mobile phone  and twenty thousand cash which was later recovered from him.

Meanwhile in this regard case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered  in Police Station Uri and the further investigation is going on.
