Kupwara admin denies report of casualties in landslide and flash flood

Kupwara: District Administration Kupwara has refuted fake news reports uploaded by some news channels and a newspaper portal today.

The online portal of “The WEEK” news magazine and NDTV.Com today mentions in their headlines that “5 killed, Several injured in landslides and flash floods in Kupwara of J&K”, which is baseless.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, said the headlines run by both news channels are fake, fabricated and misleading as there are no flood-related deaths in the Kupwara district.

Issuing a solid rebuttal of the fake news, DC said that no flood-related deaths have occurred in the Kupwara district.
It is expected that before any news is uploaded or published, facts should be verified. However, the online portal of the news magazine and news channel has failed to do so.
