Mother, her two sons  laid to rest amid sobs after boat capsized in Srinagar

Srinagar: A somber atmosphere enveloped Srinagar’s Gandabal area as thousands gathered to bid farewell to five individuals who tragically lost their lives after a boat capsized on Tuesday morning.

Among the deceased were a woman, her two sons, and two other locals, whose funeral prayers were offered jointly amidst tears and sorrow. The ground where the prayers were held witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with mourners expressing their grief with heavy hearts.

The entire Batwara locality was shrouded in mourning following the tragic incident, with locals lamenting the absence of a bridge in the area, which they believe could have prevented the tragedy.

“We have repeatedly appealed for a bridge in our locality, but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Today’s devastating loss could have been averted if only a bridge had been constructed,” expressed grief-stricken residents.
