CM Kejriwal withdraws his plea from SC

New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister’s (CM) legal team on Friday decided to withdraw the plea filed before the top court against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi excise policy case.

Kejriwal’s counsel, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, told the top court that he would argue the case before the magistrate regarding his remand when the ED produces him before the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi.

Singhvi told the court that he has informed the registry, and Kejriwal is withdrawing the petition in the Supreme Court as it is clashing with the remand.

Singhvi said he will fight for remand before the Rouse Avenue court and then back to the Supreme Court, where there will be arguments for remand, then the High Court, and so on.

Justice Khanna said, “You may go there; you need not be present here.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested last night by ED officials in connection with the Delhi excise policy case and will be produced before the Special Court at Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi in the afternoon.
