ED team reaches Kejriwal’s residence after HC refuses protection

New Delhi: A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reached the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him any protection in money laundering linked with the excise policy case.
Talking to reporters Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “This time everyone knows that just a few hours ago, the matter was in the Delhi High Court. The High Court has given time to ED till April 22 and told to file a reply on why the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is crucial. In a way, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now inside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence; there is a heavy deployment of police outside his house.”
“Now, communication is not possible with him (Arvind Kejriwal) nor with his secretary, which seems that the agency has taken his phones. They (ED) might arrest him,” he added.
ED is doing a search inside CM Kejriwal’s house, and the preparations are underway to arrest him, Bharadwaj posted in a social media post on X.
Yesterday, the Delhi High Court sought the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) response over a plea moved by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
This comes after the AAP Chief moved the court challenging nine summons issued by ED against him in connection with the money laundering case related to the alleged excise liquor policy scam.
Kejriwal earlier skipped multiple summonses of the agency in the case.
