Jammu SIA raids in five districts across Jammu division

Jammu: The State Investigation Agency Jammu on Friday conducted searches at seven locations in five districts across Jammu division in connection with probe in a case related to deep rooted larger criminal conspiracy hatched for carrying out terrorists and subversive activities hatched by an active terror ecosystem.

Official sources said that the raids were conducted to nab terrorist sympathisers comprising of the Over Ground Workers (OGWs), supporters in connivance with active terrorists of various prescribed terrorist organizations and their affiliated off-shoots.

As per intelligence inputs number of Border guides and couriers are active in the hinterland of Jammu division who form the backbone of networks to assist different terrorist organisations active in Jammu and Kashmir by facilitating the infiltrations of terrorists from across the border and further guiding them through tough and treacherous terrain as well as anti infiltration obstacles put by the security forces.

“Besides this, many of them are in touch with their Pakistan based handlers and active terrorists operating from across the border through their mobile phones and using different end to end encrypted apps,” they added.

The State Investigation Agency, it added that swooped down on multiple locations in Jammu province in the larger criminal conspiracy case, the searches were conducted in pursuance of the search warrants obtained from Special Designated UAPA Court Jammu.

The searches were simultaneously started early in the morning at seven different locations including three in District Doda, two in District Reasi, one each in Ramban and Jammu, they said.

The SIA teams recovered several digital devices and other incriminating materials devices relevant to the ongoing investigation which may give some leads to dig deep into the bottom of the network, said official sources.
