 Man injured in mortar shell explosion in Samba forests

Jammu: A man suffered splinter injuries in a mortar shell explosion in the forests of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police on Tuesday said a mortar shell explosion was reported in Sumb Khud in village Chandli in which one Chinar Singh suffered splinter injuries.

“On receiving information about the explosion, a police team and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the District Hospital from where he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu,” they said.

Notably, a few months ago, one person died due to a mortar shell explosion in the same area.

Police have taken cognizance and started the investigation.
