Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Kulgam; Contraband substance recovered

 

Kulgam: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested another drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

On  04.03.2024, a police party of Police Station Qazigund during patrolling at Village Berigam intercepted a suspicious person carrying a polythene bag, who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party, but was apprehended tactfully. During search, officers were able to recover 85 grams of charas like contraband substance from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Amin Dar son of Abdul Ahad Dar a resident of Berigam. He has been arrested on the spot.

Accordingly, case vide FIR number 59/2024 under section 8/20 of NDPS act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.

General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
