International Spice Conference from March 3 to 6

Thiruvananthapuram: The 7th edition of the International Spice Conference (ISC) will be held from March 3 to 6 with a large participation from the spice fraternity both from India and abroad.

The theme of ISC-2024 is ‘Shaping the Future : Trends and Insights,’ focusing on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities that will shape the spice industry in the coming years, a release said.

The event, organised by the All India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF) with the support of the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held in Gurgaon, Delhi-NCR.

The ISC-2024 will address various issues from the perspective of stakeholders and relevant regulatory frameworks, with dedicated presentations on the crops and markets of various spices. It will also highlights the importance of innovation and sustainable practices to ensure the long-term viability of the industry.

The conference will commence with an inaugural ceremony by delivering the presidential address on ‘Shaping the Future: The Great New India Story’ by Mr. Abheek Singhi, Managing Director and Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group, India.

Guest of Honour Mr Brendan M. Foley, President and Chief Executive Officer of McCormick, will provide insights into the topic of ‘Shaping the Future: Global Spice Industry.’

The business part of the conference will start on March 4 with a session on ‘Climate Change and Sustainability’ followed by discussion on ‘Changes and Challenges in the Global Supply Chain’.

The Round Table discussion on ‘Pesticide Residues in Spices’ will take place on the same day.

Panel discussions on ‘Value Addition in Spices and Seasonings’ and ‘Challenges in Regulations on Food Safety’ will take place on March 5. The PPT presentations on ‘Crops, Markets, Production, Supply, and Demand of Minor Spices’ will be held on the day.

An audio-visual presentations on ‘Crops, Markets, Black Pepper, Chillies, Cumin, and Turmeric’ will be held on March 6.
