Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza rises to 29,514

Gaza: The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 29,514 since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict in October last year, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said on Friday.

“During the past 24 hours, about 104 Palestinians were killed and 160 others wounded by Israeli attacks in Gaza,” the ministry said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian death toll in the West Bank city of Jenin from an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle rose to two on Friday, after a 17-year-old boy succumbed to injury, according to Palestine’s official news agency WAFA.

The commander of Palestinian militant group Jenin Brigades, Yasser Hanoun, was killed after an Israeli airstrike hit his car in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank on Thursday. The attack also injured 15 others, according to Palestinian eyewitnesses and medical sources.

Hamas, the Islamist group ruling Gaza, has been involved in a conflict with Israel after it carried out an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, during which its militants killed about 1,200 Israelis and seized more than 240 others as hostages.
