2 Siblings Die, Father Critical in Suspected Suffocation Case in Ashtangoo Bandipora

Bandipora: Two siblings have tragically died and their father battling for life in a suspected asphyxiation case in Ashtangoo village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, an official said on Wednesday morning.

The official told GNS that two siblings namely Muneer Ahmad and Tanveer Ahmad of Malangam alongside their father Qasim Ahmad Chechi were found lying unconscious this morning at Jamia Islamia Dar-ul-Uloom Faiz-ul-Uloom.

“The seminary management evacuated the trio to a nearby health facility, where the two boys were declared dead on arrival while their father continues to remain critical”, the official said.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, a police official told GNS that an FSL team had been sent to the spot while in the meantime inquest proceedings were initiated into the matter.

“It prima facie looks that the incident has resulted because of the accumulation of the obnoxious gas inside the room, however, we will have to wait for the details, as they emerge, to reach some genuine conclusion”, the official said further.
