Police rescues Pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall in Sopore

 

Sopore: Police on Tuesday morning rescued a pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall from Zethan to PHC Dangiwacha in North Kashmir’s Sopore.

A Police spokesperson said, “A distress call from Shamshad Ahmad Mir R/O Zethan Dangiwacha, requesting for urgent rescue and medical evacuation of his pregnant wife who was in critical condition was received by Sopore Police.”

“Due to heavy snowfall from the last two days, the road was completely blocked and the movement of vehicle was very difficult”, he said.

Realising the exigency, a rescue team headed by SHO Dangiwacha Insp. Jan Mohammad was immediately deputed to respond to a distress call. Despiteof heavy snow on the road, the rescue team reached the location on time and the patient was carefully and safely evacuated to PHC Dangiwacha.

General public of the area thanked Sopore Police for this timely humanitarian gesture.
