Srinagar: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar encountered an ardent Kashmiri fan at the tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir who told him that he wept the whole night when the cricket legend retired in 2013.

In a video now going viral on social media platforms, the fan, who identified himself as Mudassir Ahmed, poured out his admiration for his cricket idol.

“Jis din aapnai retirement kiya aapne do aasun bahaye, lekin maine puri raat aasu bahaye (On the day you retired, you shed a couple of tears, but I wept the whole night),” the fan told Tendulkar amidst the snowy backdrop in Pahalgam.

It can be seen in the video that meeting his cricket idol was the best day of his life.

The Master Blaster was moved by the diehard fan’s emotions, and he promised to send him a token of appreciation.

Tendulkar, who is on a personal visit, along with wife Anjali and daughter Sara, arrived in the valley on Saturday. On the first day, Tendulkar visited a bat manufacturing unit in Awantipora to have first-hand experience with the making of Kashmir willow bats.

On his way back from Pahalgam, he visited a local dry fruit shop in south Kashmir today. The family spent some time at a shop famous for selling saffron and dry fruits. They also sipped Kashmiri ‘Kehwa’.

Later in the day, Tendulkar and his family proceeded to the ski resort of Gulmarg. He is likely to grace the inaugural ceremony of the fourth edition of the Khelo India Winter Games, beginning in Gulmarg on Tuesday.
