International Seminar Celebrates Peace and Recognizes Contributions in Jammu

Jammu: In a remarkable event held at Writers Bhavan, Abhinav Theatre, on 13.2.2024. The American University, USA (AUGP), and UN University for Global Peace (UNUGP) collaborated to organize an International Value Education Seminar focused on Promoting Peace for the Sustainable Development of Bharat. The distinguished Chief Guest, eminent Scientist His Eminence Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, delivered a captivating Keynote address, while Prof. Dr. Kulbhushan Mothra presided over the program.

The seminar featured esteemed VIP speakers, including Army General Group Captain Kamal Singh Oberh (Rtd.), Brigadier Dr. Vijay Sagar Dheman, emphasizing the global importance of peace-building.

In a significant gesture, Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, Chairman cum Chief Rector of The American University, conferred Doctorate (Honoris Causa) Degrees upon selected Nation Builders and presented the prestigious “Nation Nirman Award” to Padmashree Awardee Additionally, Certificates of appreciation were bestowed upon Abhijeet Jasrotia.

Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan proudly shared that his USA-based University produces over 30,000 Peace builders worldwide every year. Notably, he announced the nomination of Hon’ble Narendra Modi Ji for the Shri Shri ATAL BIHAI VAJPAI NOBLE PEACE AWARD from The American University, which spans across more than 120 countries.

Abhijeet Jasrotia, a fervent advocate for human values and peace, played a pivotal role in the seminar’s success, exemplifying his commitment to fostering global unity. His leadership was acknowledged by the organizing committee, emphasizing the diverse aspects of peace-building efforts in the region.

The Chairman cum Chief Rector also revealed plans for a mega event, “ART FOR PEACE,” set to take place on the border of Indo-POK and Indo-China. This grand occasion will feature a live painting spanning over one kilometer by selected renowned artists worldwide, alongside Folk Dance & music performances from Jammu, Kashmir, and various other parts of the world.

Abhijeet Jasrotia’s commitment to peace and human values was further highlighted during the Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets to Chief Guests & Guests of Honour. In recognition of their exemplary service, the cadets were honored with medals and Certificates of Excellence from The American University, USA.

In a notable development, Prof. Kulbhushan Malhotra’s work on the “Untold Story of Terrorism and Proxy War in Jammu” earned him a well-deserved PhD.

The vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for an event celebrating global unity and commitment to peace, was eloquently proposed by Shri Romesh Lall Khajuria, Chairman, WWEPC, Ministry Of Textiles, Govt. Of India.
