Nearly 70 Palestinians killed in overnight Israeli strikes on Rafah

Jerusalem:  A total of 67 Palestinians were killed as a result of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip’s southern city of Rafah overnight, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Monday.

Earlier in the day, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it had carried out strikes on “terror targets” in the Shaboura area of the city of Rafah. Later, Al Jazeera broadcaster reported that strikes claimed the lives of 63 people.

The bodies of 67 people were taken to hospitals, the ministry wrote on Telegram, adding that the operation to recover bodies from under the rubble is still ongoing.
