J&K: Thousands join Friday congregational prayers at Hazratbal on Mehraj-Ul-Alam

Srinagar: Thousands of people thronged the revered Hazratbal Shrine for congregational Friday prayers in connection with the concluding function of Mehraj-Ul-Alam, the auspicious occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) ascension to heaven.

The Asar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, housing the holy relic of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), on the bank of Dal Lake, was filled with devotees, including men, women, and children, to offer Friday congregational prayers amid pleasant weather conditions.

Soon after the prayers, a priest displayed the “Moie-e-Muqadas,” or Holy relic of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), before the devotees on the occasion.

A similar function was also held at Jenab Sahab Soura Srinagar.

Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements were made by the authorities for the devotees at the Hazratbal Shrine.

Authorities had also pressed into service Srinagar Smart City Buses, which play from various parts of the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar, to ferry devotees to the holy shrine of Hazratbal.
