Notorious criminal detained under PSA in Udhampur

Udampur: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Udhampur on Wednesday has booked and detained a notorious criminal under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) for his criminal activities on the detention orders issued by the District Magistrate Udhampur.

The accused namely Rakesh Kumar @RakuS/O Yashpal Sharma R/O Ossu, A/P Sambal, Udhampur booked for his criminal activities in the area for which a number of cases had been registered against him in Police Station Udhampur.

A Police spokesperson said that the accused was a notorious criminal and was continuously involved in a number of criminal activities.

He has become a threat to the peaceful atmosphere and also posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility thereby forcing authorities to detain him under J&K Public Safety Act,1978.

“On the directions of  Joginder Singh-JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur, his dossier for PSA was framed and sent for necessary detention orders,” he said.

The spokesperson said that after getting necessary detention orders Rakesh Kumar was arrested by the team of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp Raghubir Singh and DySP Hqrs. Udhampur S. Gurmeet Singh under supervision of Addl. SP Udhampur Baljit Singh.
