Four gamblers held in Baramulla; Stake money seized: Police

Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have arrested four gamblers and seized stake money from their possession in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A Police spokesperson said, “Acting on a specific information about gambling activities at Zoogiyar Sheeri, a police party of PS Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri raided the gambling site and arrested four gamblers. They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pehliharan, Irshad Ahmad Tantray son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Zoogiyar,Reyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Nabi & Gh Nabi Malik son of Ghulam Qadir both residents of Zandfaran Sheeri.”

“Officers have seized stake money of ₹6020/- and Playing cards from their possession”, he said.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.4/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated.
