Police solves burglary cases in J&K’s Pulwama, two arrested

Pulwama: Police on Wednesday solved two theft cases when they arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from them in Jammu Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said on January 30, 2024, Station Pulwama received a complaint from one Abdul Majeed and Ghulam Rasool Dar, stating that unknown thieves under the cover of night entered the apple orchard and stole various items.
During the course of investigation, police zeroed in on one suspect identified as Arif Hussain Dar a resident of Chakoora Arigam and during questioning, the accused confessed about his involvement in the commission of crime.
On his disclosure the stolen items have been recovered, police said.
Meanwhile, during the course of investigation of another theft case, one accused identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Ladermad Awantipora was apprehended.
In his disclosure, police were able to recover 6 Samawars and 14 Copper Plates.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation initiated, police added.
