Two drug peddlers held in Budgam; Contraband/Psychotropic Substance recovered

Budgam: Police on Tuesday arrested 02 drug Peddlers and recovered Contraband/Psychotropic substance from their Possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A Police spokesperson said, “During routine naka checking near Srinagar International Airport, police party of Police Post Humhama intercepted one vehicle (Maruti Alto ) bearing registration No JK04H -8579 coming from Humhama towards Srinagar International Airport.”

“The driver disclosed his identity as Javid Ahmed Dar S/O Abdul Ahad Dar R/O Gagoo Humhama.During search of said vehicle, charas like substance weighing about 70 grms and 58 Strips of Alprazolam numbering 580 tablets were recovered from his possession”, he said.

He was arrested on spot and the vehicle used in commission of crime has also been seized.Accordingly, a Case FIR No 35/2024* under relevant sections of law registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation taken up.

” Similarly, during Naka checking at Khansahib near Ahle Hadees Masjid , Police party of Police Station Khansahib noticed one suspicious person who was carrying two nylon bags and on seeing Police party tried to flee from the spot however Police party chased and aught hold of him tactfully. During preliminary questioning he revealed his identity as Khurshid Ahmed Mir S/O Gh Mohd Mir R/O Khansahib”, he said.

During search of said person semi grinded charas like substance weighing about 2kg and 380 grms was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on spot and accordingly a Case FIR NO 19/2024 was registered in Police Station Khanshaib and further investigation set into motion.
