Kulgam: A police party of Police Station DH Pora at a checkpoint established at Margibal Gojjarpora signalled a motorcyclist identified as Sayar Ahmad Mir of Waripora to stop.
“But after noticing the police party, he tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. During the search, officers were able to recover 2.5 Kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag from his possession,” police said.
The motorcycle used in commission of crime was also seized.
Accordingly, a case was registered at Police Station DH Pora and investigation has been initiated.
