LG’s upcoming visit to Baramulla; DC chairs preparatory meeting

Baramulla: In lieu of the upcoming visit of the Lieutenant Governor to Baramulla and holding of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting to review the preparatory arrangements.

During the meeting, the DC emphasised the importance of the LG’s visit to a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and directed the concerned departments to make appropriate arrangements and provide wide publicity to the event so that more people come forward to avail the benefits of the schemes to be showcased.

He directed the R&B, PHE and Municipal department to ensure cleanliness, water supply, heating facility and other basic amenities at the venue while the police and healthcare department were entrusted with the security and emergency medical arrangements at the venue respectively.

Further, all departments were asked to set up stalls at the venue providing information on various UT based and Centrally Sponsored Schemes to the local public. It was also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message about the Yatra would be telecasted on the occasion through the Information Education and Communication vans and LED walls.

Additionally, the DC directed the department heads to extend invitations to beneficiaries, sports personalities, youth icons, and individuals of merit for the upcoming event, where they will be felicitated by the Lieutenant Governor, while the Sports Council was asked to hold sports activities on the occasion.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad; Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Balbir Singh Raina; Tehsildar Baramulla, Manager Sports Council, Executive Officer Municipal Council Baramulla among others.
