Mirwaiz allowed to travel to Delhi on personal visit: Anjuman Auqaf

Srinagar : Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid on Tuesday said that its president Mirwaz Mohammad Umar Farooq was allowed by authorities to travel to New Delhi yesterday.

In a statement, Auqaf said that Mirwaiz had conveyed the personal nature of his visit after which the authorities allowed him.

The statement reads that despite his release from house detention in September 2023, he is repeatedly detained at his house especially on Fridays.

“Mirwaiz will be back in a couple of weeks,” it said.
