Srinagar: Hundreds of devotees on Friday thronged the Hazratbal Shrine on the banks of Dal Lake here on the annual Urs of the first Caliph of Islam, Hazrat Ameer-ul-Momineen Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (RA).
People, including men, women, and children, visited the Hazratbal Shrine. The holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was displayed on the occasion after prayers.
Hazrat Abu Bakr was the first Caliph of Islam and the father-in-law of Prophet Muhammad, besides being a notable companion.
The authorities had made special arrangements for the devotees at the shrine.
