Authorities Seize Over 5 Kanals of Orchards Belonging To ‘Notorious Drug Peddler’ in Mawer Handwara

Handwara: Authorities on Wednesday took into seizure over five kanals of orchard land belonging to a notorious drug peddler at Mawer area in Handwara of Kupwara district.

An official told GNS that in a groundbreaking operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Handwara alongside the Revenue Department struck a major blow against the drug trade by seizing illegally acquired assets of the notorious drug dealer at Audoora Mawer.

“As part of the operation, the Apple orchards spanning over 5.4 Kanal, under Khasra Number 14, belonging to a notorious drug peddler Mohammad Amir Malik son of Mohammad Mukhtar Malik of Audoora Mawer was seized under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act”, the official said.

“We will continue with our operations to weed out the drug menace from Handwara”, the official remarked.
