Vinay Kumar reviews preparedness for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Srinagar District

Srinagar: The Director (SBM), Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(Central Prabhari Officer for Srinagar District), Vinay Kumar Jha today chaired a comprehensive meeting here at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex to review the action plan and preparations for ensuring the seamless and successful conduct of “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” in Srinagar District.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad and SSP Srinagar Ashish Mishra were present on the occasion.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar briefed the Central Prabhari Officer about the Department wise Action Plan prepared by the District Administration Srinagar for smooth conduct of the proceedings under forthcoming “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” in the District. He highlighted the fundamental objectives of the Viksit Bharat Yatra, encompassing critical aspects such as reaching out to the vulnerable sections eligible under various welfare schemes not yet covered, disseminating information and fostering awareness about the schemes.

The DC apprised the Prabhari Officer that the District Administration Srinagar is fully geared up to conduct the Yatra in a hassle free and seamless manner in all 21 Panchayats, 35 Municipal Wards and 7 Cantonment Wards of the District.

On the occasion, Prabhari Officer, underlined the main objectives of Viksit Bharat Yatra and stressed to reach the unreached and cover them under the Government welfare and flagship schemes to achieve saturation. He said the nationwide campaign seeks to raise awareness through outreach activities covering all Panchayats and Municipal/Cantonment Wards of the District in order to benefit citizens from the Government schemes.

While interacting with the Officers present in the meeting, Vinay Kumar got detailed feedback from the concerned District Officers about their role and plan for VBS Yatra. He impressed upon all the concerned Officers to ensure utmost coordination at different levels for the smooth and successful conduct of the activities under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the District. He asked them to ensure effective implementation of the activities planned to be conducted during the Yatra.

He also laid emphasis on enhancing provisions of sanitation facilities on Aspirational toilets model to provide modern facilities to the citizens. He also stressed the need to implement a comprehensive waste to energy mechanism system in Srinagar District to manage the issue of waste.

Vinay Kumar expressed satisfaction with the preparations made by District Administration Srinagar and emphasized the importance of reaching the last uncovered beneficiary with effective projection to the schemes to maximize their impact on the ground.

Earlier, Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, who is the District Nodal Officer for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, presented a comprehensive outline through a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT), discussing the District Profile, action plan, formulation of Committees, establishment of Control Rooms, and Training on operating the designated Portal. During the meeting, the route plan for the Yatra Van, deployment of staff for capturing video testimonials and other aspects were also discussed.
