40 fishing boats gutted by fire in southern India, no casualties reported

New Delhi:At least 40 fishing boats were destroyed after a massive fire broke out at a fishing harbor in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh during the early hours of Monday, police sources said.

No injuries or deaths were reported till the last reports came in.

The fishing harbor is located in the state’s port city of Visakhapatnam, an industrial center located on the Bay of Bengal.

The cause of the fire was not known yet. Fire tenders were rushed to the site to douse the fire, said an official of the local fire department.
