DC Kulgam inaugurates  Inter-District Athletic Meet for Girls 

Organization of those events, indispensable for honing skills: DC

Kulgam:  Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi ud Din Bhat today inaugurated the Inter-District Athletic Meet 2023, for all age group of Girls at Sports Stadium Kulgam.

The mega event is being organised by the Joint Directorate, Youth Services and Sports Kashmir and hosted by DYSSO Kulgam.

About three hundred (300) girl athletes from all districts of Kashmir Province are taking part in this athletics meet.

Speaking at the occasion, DC Kulgam  appreciated the  determination of the athletes for participating in the meet while  highlighting the significance of the sports.

He underlined the benefits of the sports competition in the physical and mental development of the individuals.

He appreciated the sports atmosphere and infrastructure in place in the district for the smooth conduct of provincial and district level competitions and credited the Khelo India initiative of the department for honing the sports skills of the young  talented lot.

 The DC also emphasised upon the students to take keen interest in sports  as it will not only boost their academics, but will prepare them for future competitions and for pursuing sports as career.

Principal, GHSS Kulgam was the Guest of Honor at the occasion.

DYSSO Kulgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori in his welcome address presented the schedule of the mega event and also assured the participants, guests  and athletes that the department has kept all the arrangements in place for the smooth conduct of the meet.

The DYSSO Kulgam also thanked  the District Administration for its support and cooperation in organising various sports programs from time to time.
