Mainly clear to partly cloudy weather with shallow fog and mist at most places of J&K: MeT

Srinagar: Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Friday predicts the weather is likely to remain dry with occasional cloudiness coupled with shallow fog and mist during morning and evening hours till November 26.

“Generally dry weather with occasional cloudiness on November 17 to 26”, the MeT office said adding “overall there is no significant weather activity”.

It said the Minimum temperature recorded over many stations of Kashmir division with lowest at Konibal as (-3.5°C), Pahalgam (-3°C), Gulmarg(-1.5°C), Kupwara (-0.2°C), Qazigund (-0.1°C), Banihal (2.2°C) and Srinagar (0.6°C) on Friday.

Kashmir weather, an independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif said that a weak Western Disturbance is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday and Sunday, though it’s likely to result in nothing more than cloudy weather conditions.

He said that on November 18 the weather will remain hazy sunshine or cloudy with possibility of light rain or snow at one or two places in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.

The hazy sunshine or cloudy weather at most places with sunny breaks possible in a few areas with light rain or snow possible at one or two places in higher reaches on November 19, he said.

The weather is likely to remain mostly sunny and dry from November 20 to 24, he said and adding that there is indication of a weak Western disturbance with a 45 percent probability exists for a surge in during the final five days of November, with a 30 percent chance pointing to an active disturbance in the weather activity, he added.
