Altaf Bukhari expresses grief over the massive fire that destroyed several houseboats in Dal Lake

Urges administration to provide immediate relief and comprehensive compensation to the affected families

Srinagar: Apni Party President  Altaf Bukhari, on Saturday, expressed his profound grief over the massive fire that destroyed at least five houseboats and six residential huts at Srinagar’s Dal Lake early this morning.

In his statement,  Bukhari, while expressing his sorrow over the incident, said, “My heart goes out to the families who suffered huge losses in the fire incident that erupted in the wee hours today. One can imagine the pain and agony that the victim families must be experiencing at this time.”

Expressing his solidarity with the sufferers, he said, “In this hour of grief, I personally and the Apni Party stand in solidarity with the victims of this devastating fire incident.”

Altaf Bukhari appealed to the LG administration to provide immediate relief and comprehensive compensation to the sufferer families.

He said, “I appeal to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to step forward and ensure the affected families receive immediate relief, followed by a comprehensive compensation package. This support is crucial for them to reconstruct their lives and businesses.”

Meanwhile, the party’s provincial president, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, led a delegation comprising senior party leaders who visited the fire victims this morning. Besides Mir, the prominent party leaders who were part of the delegation included the party’s district president for Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh; the Youth President of Srinagar and Constituency Incharge Khanyar, Mohsin Zaffar Shah; the Senior Vice President of Srinagar and Incharge of Constituency Habba-Kadal, Jeelani Hamid Kumar; the Youth Zonal President of Lalchowk, Hilal Rock, and others. The leaders met with the concerned families and extended solidarity to them.
