Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal, contraband substance recovered

Ganderbal: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party led by incharge Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal during routine naka checking near Sumbal Bridge intercepted a suspicious person. During checking, 2Kgs 720grams of poppy bulbs concealed in a white nylon bag was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Joginder Paul son of Diwan Chand resident of Blore Pathankot Punjab. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 310/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Ganderbal & investigation has been taken up.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
