Urs of Dastgeer Sahab (RA)  Celebrated with religious fervour

Srinagar: The Urs of Dastgeer Sahib  (RA) was celebrated on Friday with religious fervour across the valley while the main functions were held at Khanyar and Saraibala shrines in Srinagar. The Urs is being celebrated on 11th day of Rabi-Ul-Sani every year according to the Hijri calendar.
Thousands of devotees thronged the shrine of Sufi saint Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar Srinagar to have the glimpse of a relic of the saint.
Devotees participated in nightlong prayers. Emotional scenes were witnessed during the display of the relic as devotees were seen in tears, reciting verses from the holy Quran and seeking blessings from Allah.
However, Friday congregational prayers witnessed the highest attendance while the religious leaders shed light on the life of Dastgeer Sahib  (RA).

Similar function was held at Sarai Bala in which thousands of devotees participated in night-long prayers.

The Wakf Board and administration had put all arrangements in place for devotees.
