Lady drug peddler among 2 held with poppy straw in Jammu outskirts

Jammu: Police have arrested two drug peddlers including a lady along with a contraband of poppy straw in Sidhra area here in the city outskirts.

Police on Thursday said that during routine naka duty, the police party intercepted the peddlers heading towards Sidhra from Nagrota, who tried to escape on seeing the alert cops on duty.

During frisking, police recovered 14-kg of poppy straw (each bag of 7-kg) from both the drug peddlers identified as Gurmail Singh, resident of Amritsar and Muskan, resident of Tehsil Neoria, District Pildhit, Uttar Pradesh.

A case under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
