5.4-magnitude quake hits Kermadec Islands, NZ

Wellington: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted Kermadec Islands, New Zealand at 0259 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 38.7 km, was initially determined to be at 29.92 degrees south latitude and 177.49 degrees west longitude.
