Anantnag: Anantnag Police in its campaign against drug suppliers will be unceasing, undeterred and uncompromising till each and every drug supplier is brought to justice. Police party from Police Station Bijbehara headed by SHO Bijbehara arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 36.500 Kgs of Charas powder from his possession.
He has been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Bhat S/O Gh Rasool Bhat R/O Arwani Bijbehara. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he will remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 244/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
