Handwara : A 37-year-old man died and another was hospitalised, after the duo came under a caved in a sand mound in Shanoo village in Langate Handwara, officials said.
They told GNS that one Abdul Hamid Sheikh, son of khazir Mohammad was alongwith Shabir Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Nabi Dar when a sand mound caved in trapping them inside at Watnar Shanoo. “The onlookers after strenuous efforts rescued and took the duo to District Hospital Handwara where Abdul Hamid Sheikh was declared as brought dead on arrival”, they said.
The other person, Shabir Ahmad Dar, is under treatment, they said.
Confirming it, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognisance of the incident.
