Local Miscreants Arrested for Disrupting Marriage Function in Noorbagh

Srinagar, Oct 16 : Three individuals from Gath Colony were arrested by Srinagar Police for gate-crashing, creating a ruckus, and misbehaving with attendees, particularly women, at a marriage function in Noorbagh. The incident led to the filing of an FIR (First Information Report) under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The three accused have been identified as: Tahir Sheikh, Mehrajuddin Sheikh and Danish Qayoom

This shocking incident unfolded at a joyous wedding celebration, turning the festive occasion into chaos and fear for the attendees. Prompt and decisive action by Srinagar Police was crucial to ensure the safety and security of the event.

The FIR, registered as No. 139/2023 at the Safakadal Police Station, includes sections 147 (Punishment for rioting), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 392 (Punishment for robbery), and 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the IPC. These sections are reflective of the gravity of the misconduct that occurred at the wedding.
