Proclamation Proceedings Initiated Against Active Militants in Shopian

Srinagar: Proclamation proceedings have been initiated against two individuals, Bilal Ahmad Bhat and Abid Ramzan Sheikh, in Shopian. These individuals are alleged to be involved in acts of militancy and have multiple cases registered against them in various police stations.

SSP Shopian Tanushree-IPS, while addressing the media, emphasised that Shopian Police is committed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and security of the public. They are collaborating with other agencies to follow due process and bring these militants to justice.

Proclamation proceedings have been initiated against these active militants, as they have evaded arrest despite the issuance of non-bailable warrants on 06/09/2023. Failure to do so will result in further legal action. The police operation in Shopian was led by DySP Hqrs Shopian, along with SHO PS Shopian, SHO PS Heerpora, and DO PP Hermain. An Executive Magistrate, along with local village officials, was present during the operation.

Additionally, Shopian Police used drum beating to inform the public about their ongoing efforts to apprehend these active militants wanted in connection with various militancy-related cases.
