Kupwara to be connected with rail network soon: Lieutenant Governor

Kupwara: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday said that Kupwara will be connected with rail network soon and in this regard the Union Railway Ministry has already sanctioned a budget for survey of the rail line in the district.
 
“Union Railway Ministry has already sanctioned budget for survey of rail line for Kupwara district and after DPR is submitted, I hope the work on rail link project will be taken up and Kupwara will be connected with rail network soon,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as per KNS said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function held in Kupwara.
 
LG said the Kupwara district has achieved milestones in the last three years and the common man here is living a peaceful life. He said the district has witnessed huge infrastructural transformation in the last few years including road connectivity, power supply, tourism augmentation etc.
 
“As per census 2001 all villages of the district have been connected to district headquarters while as according to census 2011 eight villages who are yet to be connected will also be addressed in coming times,” LG Sinha said.
 
“Much has been done on power distribution and transmission while tourism in the district is rapidly increasing. Overall I can say 70 percent work has been done on infrastructural level. The district is scripting a new era of development,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held.
