YSS Ganderbal organizes Inter-School Zonal Level Athletic Meet in various Zones

Ganderbal: Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Ganderbal organized a spectacular Athletic Meet for Girls U/17 and U/19 years in Zone Ganderbal of the district.

The event was held at Qamaria Ground Ganderbal in which 215 student athletes from various Educational institutes of the Zone Ganderbal participated.

The event aimed to foster the spirit of athleticism and sportsmanship among the young generation and culminated with the award ceremony where all the meritorious athletes were awarded with their well- deserved medals by the senior officials of the department.

Sports events like these play a vital role in nurturing talent and fostering a healthy competitive spirit.

Likewise, the event was conducted by Zonal Physical Education office Tullamulla for boys U/17 and U/19 years and for girls AAG at Hyderia ground Tullamulla.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 315 student players from different schools of the said Zone.

DYSSO Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal on the occasion interacted with the student players and officials. The officer encouraged the efforts put forth by the department officials and also motivated the student players to keep on participating in different games and sports for holistic development.

At the end Medals were distributed among position holders by the senior officials of the department.

Meanwhile, Zone Kangan of the District organized a “Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run” with the theme ‘Swatchh Bharat, Swatchhata Bharat’ to mark two days of National importance namely Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti.

The Run commenced from SAPS Kangan and culminated at GMS Kangan. A Total of 115 student athletes from various Educational Institutions actively participated.

The Swachhata Run aimed to foster the spirit of promoting cleanliness and non-Violence that Mahatma Gandhi advocated for and is a great way to honor his legacy.
