Teachers, Other Staff Without Salary For Want Of DDOs In Various Schools In Srinagar

Srinagar:  A number of teachers and other school staff are without salary for more than a month due to alleged want of Drawing and Disbursing Officers or non-assigning of powers to eligible persons in various educational institutions in Srinagar.

A number of teachers told GNS that their salary for the previous month has not been released so far as authorities have either not posted a full-fledged DDO or delegated powers to eligible members, causing hardship to them.

They said that a communication has been made by the concerned to the Principal Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Civil Secretariat in this regard vide DSEK/Estt/Gaz/812, dated 11-09-2023. “So far there has been no action and as such teachers and allied staff are facing hardships.”

They have urged the authorities to look into the issue so that they are not made to “suffer” any more.

Principal Secretary to Government, School Education Department, could not be contacted for comments in this regard.
