Army commander reviews operational preparedness along LoC

Srinagar: Army’s Northern Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday visited units along the Line of Control in Kashmir and reviewed the operational preparedness, officials said.

The visit of Northern Commander to LoC in Rampur Uri in Baramulla district comes five days after an infiltration bid was foiled at Hatlanga Uri in which three suspected infiltrators were killed. After the bid was foiled, the Army said infiltrating militants received “fire support” from the Pakistan Army.

He was briefed on the Dynamic Counter Infiltration grid & the modern methods being adopted. The Army Commander interacted with troops of IA, #AssamRifles & JKP and feliciated the troops of IA & JKP for Succesful conduct of #Op KHANDA,” Army’s Northern Command said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Indian Army’s efforts to extend its outreach to remotely located ex-servicemen of Tangdhar in Kupwara district was witnessed today when The Army Commander, interacted with them at “Youth Centre Tangdhar”.

The event saw an active participation of 207 ex servicemen from the region who were cheerful of the fruitful interaction.
