Hideout Busted; Arms, Ammo Recovered in Handwara: Police

Srinagar  : Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara said to have busted a hideout and recovered arms and ammunition in a joint operation with Army and CRPF in Handwara area.

“On 16 September 2023, during a search operation at Wadder Bala by parties of Army 21RR, Handwara Police and CRPF 92 Bn, a hideout of arms and ammunition was busted”, said a police spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS.

The arms and ammunition recovered from the site, as per the statement, include; 2 AK-47, 1 AK-56, 16 AK Magazines, 328 AK Rounds, 1 Pistol, 2 Pistol Magazines, 3 Pistol Rounds, 1 UGBL and 4 UGBL Rounds.

“In relation to this, FIR No 208/2023 has been registered at Police Station Handwara under relevant sections UAPA and Arms Act and investigation initiated”, reads the statement further.
