Corruption practices of past regimes uprooted in J&K: LG Sinha

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday asserted that corruption practices established and nurtured by previous regimes have been uprooted by the present dispensation of J&K. He said those indulged in corruption practices will not be spared and will be taken to task sternly.

Corruption was uprooted to empower the common man in Jammu and Kashmir. Previous regimes of J&K had established and nurtured corrupted practices unabated but the present dispensation of J&K have uprooted this menace,” LG Manoj Sinha as per KNS said while addressing a function at KICC, Srinagar here.

“The system, which functioned on the basis of corruption, was demolished. Now the common man feels empowered with transparency in the system. Those who looted Jammu and Kashmir were held accountable,” LG Sinha said and added, “J&K Bank is now scripting history which had suffered during the previous regimes”.

The LG Sinha also said elections in Jammu and Kashmir will happen at an appropriate time. “The Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of the Parliament had said that an election will be held in J&K which will be decided by the Election Commission of India. The J&K administration is sure that 80 percent of the people will vote and favour the prevailing system here,” he said.

Sinha added those indulged in corrupt practices will not be spared. “Everything will be done under law till PM Modi is at the helm of affairs,” Sinha held.
